Creating a space as a third educator
We design a bespoke playroom that’s perfect for children and grown-ups. We transform a space into an educational landscape that encourages the physical, mental and social skills of children. Our playrooms provide a sensory-filled and spacious learning environment that creates safe spaces for children to learn. We use authentic natural materials with strong ‘touch and feel’ qualities that offer children diverse, haptic stimuli. We give the certainty that our work meets all the requirements for a safe, ecological, and development-promoting environment for children.
With Rakoon Design, each playroom is uniquely architectured to stimulate the curiosity, imagination, and creativity of children that help inspire new ideas, games, and friendship. They are designed to attract a sense of imagination and adventure in both children and grown-up alike.
Our approach to building a Learning Space
Meeting & Conceptualization
We are always excited to begin a new project. We love to hear your ideas and your vision of the space that you want to transform. Once all parties are in tune with the project objective, we begin your journey on the first part of your playroom adventure.
Site Visit
To create the right educational space, the team will visit the site to assess and conceptualize the design befitting the room. Based on our ocular visit, we would discuss the project in detail enabling us to explore the different ways we can transform the room functionally and have it adapted to a holistic educational concept. Once final, we will present the innovative room concept or design brief to your team.
The Creative Process
Individual solutions are designed and created to meet your needs and requests. The jointly developed concepts and ideas are transferred into a professional and concrete plan of the room design.
A set of drawings, sketches, visuals, three-dimensional preliminary draft, and materials samples shall be presented to visualize the end design before production begins.
Production and Construction
All materials and products are manufactured, produced, and crafted in Germany. The wood, the main material of our playrooms, is surface treated. This means that the wood used must be treated in such a way that they do not contain any harmful substances and are robust enough, e.g. to provide a safe and healthy environment for the children's thirst for adventure. All woods are therefore oiled and waxed using a special technique, which makes them more resistant and durable.
On-Site Installation
A trained and certified carpenter from Germany will carry out the installation of the materials in your facility efficiently and precisely. All on-site installation is carried out ensuring attention to detail and with the highest quality of craftsmanship.
